On the heels of the our most successful Vinyl is Forever line to date (Edition 03, designed by Rob Giampietro), the fourth installment features the design of Justin Thomas Kay, as well as our first 2-sided design. The line is available exclusively from Soundscreen Design’s shop.
Edition 04 features 2 color versions of crew neck t’s, 2 color versions of pullover hooded sweatshirts, and a square-bottom, oversized grocery tote.
The fourth installment in our ongoing Vinyl is Forever organic apparel line is in production. Designed by the ever-brilliant Justin Thomas Kay, Edition 04 will feature a choice of color (white with black ink / black with white ink) for each garment type of crew neck t’s and pullover hoodies, while the oversized grocery tote will be available in white with black ink only. Made from premium, organic cotton, all the base garments are from Alternative Apparel.

On the heels of the successful first and second editions (designed by Human Empire and Andreas Samuelsson respectively), the third installment of Vinyl is Forever features the design of New York based designer, writer, and teacher Rob Giampietro. This edition features crew neck t’s, 3/4 sleeve henleys, crew neck sweatshirts and tote bags.
Rob Giampietro teaches at Parsons The New School for Design in New York and in the graduate graphic design program at RISD in Providence, RI. He also served on the Executive Board of AIGA/NY from 2007-2009. Rob has participated in lectures and panels at the School of Visual Arts, the New Museum, and Yale University. His commentary on design and visual culture has appeared in Dot Dot Dot, Design Observer, Emigre, Eye Magazine, and more.

On the heels of the successful first edition (designed by Human Empire), the second installment features the design of renowned Swedish designer and illustrator Andreas Samuelsson. Known for working with cut paper collage mixed with watercolor and computer graphics, his ideas tend to turn into geometric forms, stylistic symbols and handwritten letters.
Different from the first edition, the second edition features crew neck t’s, v-neck t’s, and pullover hooded sweatshirts. Sadly, the tote bags are already sold out. Please visit our shop to purchase today, these will not last forever.
Our first edition of Vinyl is Forever, designed by German design studio Human Empire, is almost sold out. Edition 02 is designed by Swedish illustrator Andreas Samuelson and will be introduced shortly, but remember that each series will be limited edition and therefore not reprinted in the future. Every piece is printed on premium, environmentally friendly garments with the edition number and series noted. If you want to be one of the last few to grab Edition 01 don’t wait, they’ll soon be gone forever.
Lots going on here at SSD HQ, which is soon to make the journey out of Manhattan into the preferred borough of Brooklyn; Greenpoint to be exact. Blog posts may slow due to increased pierogi and kielbasa intake.
If you happened to tune in for the 51st annual Grammy awards a few weeks back, you would not have seen Brian Roettinger in his Sunday best, as the nominees for the most important award of the show get no airtime. Brian was nominated for best album package for his work with No Age on their latest release, Nouns. Despite being beat out by Metallica’s latest effort, Death Magnetic, as voted by the same committee that granted the best album honors to Robert Plant and Allison Krauss over Lil Wayne, Radiohead and much adored Coldplay. Either way, we believe Brian the real winner of that night for simply getting to see the Rap Pack live and in person.

Inventory is running low on the first installment of our ongoing quarterly wearables series, Vinyl is Forever, designed Human Empire. Hooded sweatshirts and totes are almost gone, and as this is a limited edition series, they shall not be repressed. We look for edition 02, designed by the wonderful Andreas Samuelsson, will be released in May.
