Six things about Thumb:
Thumb is a graphic design office that works on public, private and self-initiate projects, usually in the areas of architecture, art, design, and culture.
Thumb was established in New York City as an independent office in 2007.
Thumb has worked with: 306090 Inc., Architectural League of New York, Center for Urban Pedagogy, Columbia GSAPP, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, MIT Architecture, Rizzoli, Routledge, Ryan McGinness, and Whitney Museum of American Art, among others.
Thumb is directed by Jessica Young and Luke Bulman, who both trained in architecture.
Thumb is fond of fluorescent links, extreme matteness, prettiness, live and immediate processes, immediacy in general for that matter, color, shape, very glossy paper, voids and holes, surprises, everydayness, reading, diagrams, dogs, Seuss, awkward transitions…
Thumb has noticed that a failure of imagination begins with the meaningless obsession with perfection.
